Mikael Kuronen is the Director of Product Management at Georgia-Pacific Gypsum. He received his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he also developed an unfortunate addiction to snowboarding. In 23 plus years with Georgia Pacific, he has held multiple leadership roles focused on solving customer problems and delivering market-based solutions through innovation and new product development. Recently, he led the conceptualization and commercialization of DensDeck® Prime with EONIC™ Technology, in addition to DensDeck® StormX™ Prime Roof Board, the latest innovation in the GP Gypsum portfolio of Dens® fiberglass mat gypsum panels. Mr. Kuronen is actively involved with SPRI (Single Ply Roofing Industry), RICOWI (Roofing Industry Committee On Weather Issues), and his local IIBEC chapter (International Institute of Building Envelope Consultants). He also serves as a member on the NRC Canada Cover Board Consortium. And he still looks to the mountains for solitude and fresh powder every chance he can get, only now with his 5- and 9-year old sons with him.
