Building operations and maintenance workers are
key to reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.
Advancements in clean energy technologies coupled with
the challenges facing the skilled workforce can make it feel
overwhelming to keep up.
This is why NYSERDA is investing in workforce development programs
to help New York businesses and institutions train operations and maintenance
professionals on best practices for maintaining their buildings, including the
latest clean energy equipment.
With NYSERDA cost-share support, organizations can develop and implement
custom, hands-on training programs with low-to-no out-of-pocket expenses.
NYSERDA will provide funding of up to $500,000 per project to train O&M workers
on how to get the most out of your buildings’ equipment.
Proper training on building systems pays off in multiple ways that can
positively impact your bottom line, including:
•
Reduced energy and water use
•
Reduced equipment breakdowns and maintenance costs
•
Improved O&M employee retention due to promotion and career
advancement, and more.
