RESPONSIVE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Dry and pre-action fire sprinkler systems that protect unconditioned areas come with their own set of maintenance challenges. A broken auxiliary drain in one of these areas will result in major inconveniences for staff and patrons. Since broken auxiliary drains usually result in flooding of the immediate area, slip and falls become an undeniable liability.
The most typical reason for an auxiliary drain failure is overlooked maintenance causing one to freeze and break during winter. To eliminate the flooding caused by a freeze and break the AGF FLOODELIMINATOR Model 5900 shuts down the pressurized flow to the broken auxiliary drain. The COLLECTanDRAIN Model 5400, 5450, and 5500 protect the most problematic auxiliary drains by encasing them in a heated cabinet so they can safely accumulate system condensation without freezing and breaking.
The COLLECTanDRAIN Model 5400 will notify maintenance staff, locally and/or remotely, when the collection assembly needs to be drained. The Model 5450 utilizes a self-maintenance feature that sheds and drains excess condensation when levels accumulate above 80‰ of the collection assembly. The Model 5500 features programmable, motorized supply and drain valves that operate automatically per NFPA when the collection assembly reaches capacity. All models can be wired directly to the Fire Control Panel or Building Management System.

PROACTIVE CORROSION MANAGEMENT
The internal pipe walls of your fire sprinkler system are corroding. It is a natural occurrence that can't be stopped. But, being able to slow down the corrosion by removing the elements responsible for it, and being forewarned of a potential system failure prior to it happening is crucial to maintaining the reliable operation of your system.
Air trapped in wet pipe fire sprinkler systems encourages internal pipe corrosion which can result in pin hole leaks that need to be repaired, and eventually, will require a retrofit. PURGEnVENT automatic, air venting valves release trapped air in the system and removes excess oxygen, a crucial element needed in the corrosion process. The Model 7900AAV installs at system high points and automatically removes excess air while the system is in operation. Them Model 7930ECA includes an end cap and installs at the end of system branch lines, and the Model 7950ILV includes a separation chamber that installs after the floor control assembly for systems with hard to access high points. All three models feature a purge valve that works as a vacuum break to expedite system draining and help protect gaskets on other system components while draining.

The CORRinSITE was designed to give you an internal view. The simple-to-install plug is made of the same steel as the system, installs directly into the system, and sits flush with the internal wall of the pipe. This allows it to detect actual wall loss because it is experiencing the same conditions. The thinner wall of the CORRinSITE plug will corrode faster then the thicker system pipe wall and when the plug corrodes through it transforms its site glass from a bright white to a bright, fluorescent orange. This is a warning that the internal pipe wall is losing its thickness and integrity to advancing corrosion.

MONEY SAVING SOLUTIONS
When freezing conditions, an accident, or vandalism causes an auxiliary drain in a dry or pre-action system to break it releases the pressurized air resulting in a tripped dry valve. The dry valve, in turn, releases a pressurized flow of water to the broken auxiliary drain which results in facility flooding. The AGF FLOODELIMINATOR is a simple mechanical device that acts as a fail-safe to stop the pressurized flow of water from being released, and instead limits it to 8 ounces per minute; minimizing any collateral damage and significantly reducing clean up time and expenses. It can be installed directly onto the supply valve of a new or existing auxiliary drain, or it can be installed in the vertical pipe above the auxiliary drain.

For less problematic auxiliary drains that don't readily collect system condensation, or for those located in conditioned spaces, consider the COLLECTanDRAIN Model 5100ALBV water detector. It provides visual and audible alarms for when water is detected and needs to be drained, and it can be wired to the Fire Control Panel or Building Management System for remote notification.

For a simple way to meet NFPA 13 standards that require an air vent on all wet systems that utilize metallic pipe, the PURGEnVENT Model 7910MAV is a manual air vent that utilizes an internal ball float to help relieve excess air from the system. It has the smallest footprint of any air vent available.

INTELLIGENT TESTING Different facilities have different system testing requirements. If the testing is being done by internal staff it can be a big drain on resources, if it is being done by an external provider it can be a big drain on budget resources. With AGF RemoteTEST your staff or your paid ITM provider can test the system, or systems, from a common panel and will no longer have to manually operate each test valve from its individual location. The RemoteTEST was designed to speed up the process of mandatory system testing by providing a method of activating a single, or multiple system test from a central location.
