Gordian commissioned new secondary research by Government Business Council to examine the current state of federal construction procurement. This research uncovered opportunities for improved efficiency in federal procurement models, especially amid the recent growth in Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) projects. Government Business Council found that IDIQ contracting methods such as Job Order Contracting were found to greatly improve procurement efficiency for such projects.
Following the publication, we presented the findings in a panel discussion in partnership with the Society of American Military Engineers with experts from the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Government Business Council. These experts shared their firsthand insight into why these challenges matter and what opportunities exist to improve project agility to cut costs and time.
To expound upon these findings, Gordian produced a suite of resources to explore federal IDIQ contracts, discussing their advantages and contract structures. These resources provide insights into:
- Common types of federal IDIQ contracts
- When IDIQ contracts are an ideal procurement solution
- Why these contracts have grown in popularity over recent decades
- The time and cost savings benefits of IDIQ contracts
