RELIEF FROM THE HEAT
Buildings consume 68 percent of electricity produced and account for 48 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions. On average, 20 percent of electricity demand in commercial buildings is the result of air conditioning, much of that during the peak demand periods of the day. Charges for Peak usage can represent up to 70 percent of the cost of electricity. Clearly, there is significant opportunity to reduce building operating costs by minimizing the demand for building cooling.
Replacing a non-reflective dark colored roof with a highly reflective roof reduces building cooling demand and is an excellent strategy to reduce operational costs, even in cool climates. And, there is no price premium for purchasing a reflective roof. That means you save money from day one.
I invite you to learn more about this important cost saving strategy and more in this newsletter.
