Mission Critical Focus
Smart Strategies: IOT, Data and Automation

The Conference Includes More Than 35 Educational Sessions, Among Them:
Finding the money: Leveraging new financing tools for energy efficiency and renewable energy
There is never enough money to pay for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. As energy efficiency and renewable energy projects are getting more attractive, a number of new financing tools have hit the market. These programs will allow most building owners to make energy efficiency and renewable energy investments that reduce operating expenses and are cash-positive from day one. This session gives you practical advice about where to start looking for energy efficiency and renewable energy financing, and how to look out for pitfalls when choosing the right strategy to pay for your project.

Direct Current Energy Systems: The Buildings of the Future are Here
Direct current (DC) microgrid technology is redefining how energy is generated and consumed proving to be more attractive and innovative for commercial building owners than existing state of the art technologies. The DC microgrid removes power conversion devices to lower the cost of solar PV and energy storage ownership, improves building load efficiencies, and provides reliability and resiliency to these facilities. The DC microgrid approach promotes the penetration of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies to better serve emission reduction and zero net energy goals. Attendees will gain an understanding of DC microgrids and its applicability to their facilities.

Building Performance Strategies
Sustainable building performance strategies consist of six fundamental components; site, energy, water, materials, indoor air quality, and maintenance. Optimizing the site takes into consideration the location, orientation, landscaping, impact on neighborhood and local ecosystems, transportation, parking, and physical security. Optimizing energy use will minimize dependence on fossil fuels by maximizing energy efficiency, and incorporating renewable energy technologies into the final design. Architects, builders and owners need to consider the concept of net zero energy buildings on every project.
