California is working on hospital violence standards.  Meanwhile, a blog on the MedPage Today site declares that because of increasing violence, working in healthcare is becoming a risky business.

Other threats — both large and microscopic — are death with in articles on the Hospitals & Health Networks site ("Resilient design helps hospitals weather natural disasters") and the Fresno Bee ("Three Fresno hospitals cited for high infection rates").

Finally, we couldn't let St. Patrick's Day week pass without a green story. This one is from Muskoka Region site, describing Canadian hospitals that are being praised for carbon footprint reduction.
