California Law Aims to Improve Energy-Use Benchmarking

A new California law will give building owners access to whole-building energy use. That data is key to enabling owners to benchmark their buildings' energy use. In addition, the new law requires disclosure of benchmarking results every year, rather than only upon sale of the building, and expands benchmarking to cover large multifamily housing facilities.
