Promoting Occupant Health in Your Facility

While I was working on the May cover story for Building Operating Management on office building repositioning, one person said they were waiting to see how the WELL Building Standard will be adopted by multi-tenant office space, and how that will influence programming choices. The idea was that as the owner/operator of the base building, it becomes harder to influence factors which directly affect occupant health, to the degree the standard calls for. It heartened me to hear that this topic even came up, because it means occupant health is very much on the minds of facility managers and buildings owners. This article offers other useful background to remember as you are selecting doors and hardware products. How does your organization select doors and door hardware that effectively balance cost, safety and security needs?
