Thinking About The Unthinkable:
Active Shooters

The Basics of LEDs

The rate at which the lighting industry is innovating never fails to astonish me. Five or six years ago, I attended Lightfair and came back grumbling about these horrible new LEDs that gave off a harsh blue light. At that point they were a fringe technology, and I just couldn't understand how they'd ever get widespread use. Today, about half the fixtures in my own home have an LED lamp. So, we've now established that I'm a lousy futurist. But you might still have some questions about what to consider when selecting LED luminaires and lamps. A Building Operating Management article offers a nice primer on what to look for in LEDs. If there's something not covered in the article you're still wondering about, let us know in the comments below and we can consider it for future coverage.
