Every three years, the NFPA updates article 70E, making it necessary for those working with electric equipment to understand all of the updates and additions included with each new edition. With the recent release of the 2018 edition, electrical staff should be prepared to review the current processes in place and make changes based on the revisions. NFPA 70E-2018 implements many new policies and requirements that impact how companies manage the safety of their workers, assess the hazards of electrical systems and mitigate the arc flash hazard to an acceptable level.

The webinar will cover the new policies and requirements such as implementing human error into electrical assessments, utilizing the hierarchy of controls to mitigate risk, understand PPE selection when an incident energy analysis has been completed, allowable alternative label designs, changes to program documentation and more.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the newly released NFMT 70E-2018
  • Understand the PPE selection when an incident energy analysis has been completed
  • Identify how to utilize the hierarchy of controls to mitigate risk
