More than 80 percent of mobile wireless traffic originates from inside buildings, but fewer than half of building owners, managers, and architects consider in-building wireless solutions when designing their properties. The industry must take a leading role in educating this audience.

In this presentation, the speaker will discuss the realities of commercial building deployment of DAS and small cells, and will suggest strategies and technical requirements for increasing penetration of these technologies. The presentation covers results from a survey commissioned by CommScope about the following topics:
1) Perceptions of building owners, managers, and architects about in-building wireless solutions.
2)Requirements for products that address the enterprisewireless market.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss what is motivating enterprises and facility owners to adopt in-building wireless solutions.
  • Determine how to choose among the major solution options – distributed antenna systems, small cells and Wi-Fi.
  • Learn how the industry ecosystem and funding options are changing to serve this market.
