Carlisle SynTec Systems
What single-ply membrane does Carlisle SynTec Systems use on its own roofs?
EPDM is the short answer.

Carlisle SynTec Systems is a large commercial roofing manufacturer specializing in all major single-ply membranes, including EPDM, TPO, and PVC. For the past 10 years, Carlisle has chosen to use black EPDM fully adhered roofing systems on many of its own buildings throughout the U.S. in a variety of climates.

EPDM is also an excellent choice for re-roofing projects. White FleeceBACK® EPDM membrane was selected for a manufacturing facility in Texas because it has the best hail and puncture resistance and white membranes keep the building cooler in warm climates. A black FleeceBACK EPDM (RL) RapidLock Roofing System is being planned for Carlisle's manufacturing facility in Utah to help mitigate the snow load on the roof and reduce heating costs.

Sections of the Carlisle, Pennsylvania, manufacturing facility have 35-year-old ballasted and adhered non-reinforced EPDM roofs that are still performing quite well. One of the first Carlisle FleeceBACK EPDM installations is on a section of the Carlisle manufacturing plant and is still performing after 22 years. The same can be said for the 180,000 square foot FleeceBACK EPDM roof on the Carlisle warehouse expansion that is now 20 years old.
