Do you have a commercial roofing project that requires a higher level of puncture resistance?

Advancements in manufacturing throughout the years have drastically increased the puncture resistance of EPDM membranes. Regardless of the level of protection your project requires, there is an EPDM membrane to fit your needs.

Good Puncture Resistance:

  • 60-mil non-reinforced is the most popular EPDM membrane and offers greater puncture resistance than 45-mil non-reinforced EPDM.

Better Puncture Resistance:

  • Adding internal reinforcement to a 60-mil sheet increases puncture resistance by 50%.
    • 60-mil reinforced EPDM systems qualify for 16 man hours per year of accidental puncture warranty coverage.
  • Thicker membranes such as 90-mil non-reinforced and 75-mil reinforced EPDM provide additional puncture resistance and are eligible for 30-year total system warranties.
    • 90-mil non-reinforced and 75-mil reinforced EPDM systems qualify for 32 man hours per year of accidental puncture warranty coverage.

Best Puncture Resistance:

  • Adding external fleece reinforcement to a 60-mil EPDM sheet increases puncture resistance by 325% and is considered the top of the line when it comes to toughness, durability, and wind uplift resistance.
    • 145-mil fleece-reinforced EPDM systems are eligible for 36 man hours per year of accidental puncture warranty coverage.

Regardless of your project’s requirements, there is an EPDM membrane to fit your needs. For more information, visit www.carlislesyntec.com or contact Ron Goodman at Ron.Goodman@CarlisleSynTec.com.
