Building Operating Management's 2016 FMXcellence Recognition Program Honorees Announced
January 14, 2016 — Milwaukee — Building Operating Management magazine, the leading magazine for building owners and facility managers, today announced the honorees selected for this year's FMXcellence Recognition Program. The annual award recognizes facilities management teams that add significant value to their organizations by helping to achieve broader goals. The honorees will be celebrated at a special event held at the National Facilities Management and Technology (NFMT) 2016 Conference and Expo at the Baltimore Convention Center March 22, 2016.

The 2016 honorees are:
  • TD Bank Group
  • Hamilton County Ohio
  • Max Planck Florida Institute
  • Klein Independent School District
  • Frederick County (Maryland) Public Schools
The winning projects represent progress in the facilities management industry and run the gamut of best practices. Winning project highlights include:
  • TD Bank earned FMXcellence honors for development of a Vested Outsourcing® partnership that creates a "win-win" relationship between the facility organization and the service provider.
  • Hamilton County Facilities Department was recognized for an aggressive energy conservation project that included six major buildings in downtown Cincinnati.
  • Max Planck Florida Institute gained FMXcellence recognition for expanding FM responsibilities to include preventive maintenance of scientific equipment.
  • Klein Independent School District was honored for upgrades to FM processes and operations that reduced annual costs by more than 20 percent without sacrificing quality of services provided.
  • Frederick County Public Schools (Maryland) earned recognition for piloting, developing, and implementing inexpensive wireless remote control for portable classrooms.
This year's nominees were judged by the editorial staff of Building Operating Management magazine. All of the winning projects will be covered in the August issue of Building Operating Management and presented at the NFMT 2016 Conference and Expo in March.
