Why?
You and the building mission you support had a lot to do with the change.
Any veteran of the FM wars will tell you that, while maintenance/engineering and cleaning have always played a vital role in the facility management mission, the state of maintenance and cleaning when our magazines debuted years ago does not compare with challenges you currently tackle, or with the brain power you are employing to meet these challenges.
The 21st century maintenance and cleaning missions mirror the high-tech, high-stakes commitment organizations are making on behalf of their facilities.
As information vehicles serving these markets, we need to get in step, too, and better reflect the changing role, status and sophistication you and your team bring to the FM mission.
In addition, the “housekeeping” in Housekeeping Solutions did not adequately reflect the variety of building markets the magazine serves.
Your department means more today to the facility mission than it ever has. Hopefully, the information you rely on to do your job reflects that fact.
